About

The following information is available for Goose Creek Church of Christ:

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalms 103: 1-2

It is our goal here at Goose Creek Church of Christ to simply be Christians and to pursue diligently a unity as found in the New Testament. Therefore, we reject all names, titles and creeds not found in the word of God. We are as Ephesians 4:3-6 says, "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. There is ONE BODY and ONE SPIRIT, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM; ONE GOD and FATHER OF ALL, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Our allegiance is to JESUS CHRIST and HIS WORD, and not to the doctrines of men. The most important question anyone must answer is, ARE YOU SAVED? In Matthew 15:8-9 Jesus says, "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

Scripture Reading: Matthew 3 & 4 Matt 3:1-12 We are introduced to John the Baptist and we get to read John the Baptist preaching baptizing and also preaching about the coming of Jesus. Matt 3:13-17 Jesus comes to John to get baptized. John doesn't feel worthy enough to baptize Jesus but Jesus talks him into it. And God is pleased Matt 4:1-11 The devil is temping Jesus by all three ways you can be tempted. (1 John 2:16 Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life) Matt 4:3 The devil tempted Jesus with bread after not eating for 40 days in the desert (lust of the flesh). Matt 4:6 The devil tempted Jesus by trying to get him to tempt God (pride of life). Matt 4:9 And lastly the devil tried to get Jesus to take possessions and workshop him (lust of the eyes). And luckily for us Jesus denied him, with scripture. Matt 4:12-25 Jesus starts teaching repenting and he get the first four of the Apostles, Simon, Andrew, John and James. And he goes to different areas teaching and healing the sick.
